性质描述:

相对密度1.31～1.55，吸水率为热塑性塑料中最低的，仅为0.07%。具有优良的强韧性和抗疲劳性，冲击强度高，有自润滑性和耐磨性，摩擦系数小，但缺口敏感性大。耐热、耐气候性好，耐燃，但能慢燃。尺寸稳定性好，电性能优良，耐电弧性好，但体积电阻率、高频介质损耗角正切值大。抗化学药品性优良，醇、醚、脂肪烃、酸和盐的水溶液等不起作用。耐四氯化碳，在二氯乙烷中溶胀，在芳烃、乙酸和乙酸乙酯中有些溶胀，在浓硝酸和硫酸中分解。耐热水、耐油类，但易受卤化烃侵蚀，耐水解性差。熔体粘度低、成膜性、成型性优良，但收缩大，薄膜可挠性好，撕裂和屈服强度高。PBT成型加工可注塑、挤出、吹塑、涂覆、焊接、粘接、机加工、真空成型、真空镀金属、涂饰等。

生产方法:

酯交换法是在高温、高真空下，以熔融状态进行反应的。其具体制法为：将1：1.1～2.0摩尔比的DMT和1,4-BD及微量钛酸酯类催化剂加入酯交换反应器中，于常压及160～190℃下进行酯交换反应，蒸出副产物甲醇和四氢呋喃。生成的对苯二甲酸双羟丁基酯进入预缩聚反应器，再于190～230℃、1.33～13.33kPa（10～100mmHg）压力下进行预缩聚反应，蒸出副产物1,4-BD和少量的四氢呋喃，然后在250～260℃、＜133Pa（1mmHg）压力下进行缩聚反应，当熔融树脂达到一定粘度后经挤出成条（或片），冷却切粒即得产品。直接酯化法是以精对苯二甲酸（PTA）和1,4-丁二醇（BDO）为原料，直接进行酯化反应先制得对苯二甲酸双羟丁基酯单体，之后在一定的条件下进行缩聚反应得到PBT。

用途:

用于制长丝、薄膜、电子电器（如同转变压器、电位器、条形联结件、彩色显相管插座及各种开关等）和汽车，其余用于机械部件和纤维改性。
