性质描述:

无色液体，沸点198-199℃，78-80℃（1.33kPa），相对密度（20/4℃）1.020，折光率1.413。不溶于水。

生产方法:

将草酰丙酸二乙酯加热至激烈逸出一氧化碳，温度130-150℃。放出的气体减少后，逐步上升高温度，使液体回流直至气体逸尽。蒸馏得甲基丙二酸二乙酯，收率97%。

用途:

有机合成中间体。
