triazole antifungal drug approved for use in various countries such as the United States,
Canada, and Japan as a 10% topical solution for the treatment of
onychomycosis (fungal infection of the nails). It acts as an inhibitor of 14α-demethylase, which is involved in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a key constituent of fungal cell membranes.
